November boat trips, in short
For most of November, the boat trip we would book is the Gozo and Comino full-day cruise from Buġibba, from $34 a person: the Blue Lagoon, the caves and three to four hours on Gozo, which make a full day out even without a swim. A couple or a small group can have a boat to themselves on the private speedboat, from $181 for up to six, or the private charter, from $285 for up to seven.
Early November can still carry a swim on a calm day; late November suits sightseeing and Gozo. The sunset cruises have stopped and a windy day can cancel a trip, so book with free cancellation and keep a spare day.

Which boat trips run in November
Most of the year-round boat trips keep sailing in November, with fewer departures than in summer and more days lost to the wind. Early November can still feel like a mild October and carry a swim; late November is better for sightseeing and the Gozo combinations.

A bookable date is not a promise that the boat sails: every operator decides on the morning, from the wind and the sea. The sea itself averages about 22°C over November and cools through the month, and by the middle of November the sun sets at about five to five. The swim question, the weather figures and how the lagoon changes through the month are in our Blue Lagoon in November guide. For the ferry, see our Comino ferry and Blue Lagoon guide.
What kind of tour makes sense in November?
Three formats cover most November trips. Which one fits depends on how much of the day you want in the water, and on which half of the month you are in.
Standard shared cruise
Best when swimming is central to the day and the mainstream schedules are operating. A 3–4 hour Comino cruise is usually more versatile than a long single-stop excursion, because the Blue Lagoon, the Crystal Lagoon and the caves fit into one short trip. In November that makes it an early-month choice for most people. The Comino cruise from Ċirkewwa, for at most 24 people, keeps running all month.
Gozo + Comino
This format comes into its own in late autumn and winter, because Gozo adds a substantial block of sightseeing. If you would sooner stay dry, the day still includes Victoria, the island's scenery and a proper excursion, not a long, cold stop at anchor. For most of November this is the trip we would book, on the Gozo and Comino full-day cruise from Buġibba. Our Gozo and Comino in winter guide follows the same day through to March.
Private boat
Best for couples, families and small groups who value a flexible route, the caves, a shorter transfer and control over the swim stops. In summer a private boat helps you avoid the crowds; in November you get flexibility and a compact trip, and the skipper can change the route for the weather. Our guide to private Comino boats in winter compares the speedboat and the charters in more detail.
Three boat trips for November
Many Blue Lagoon cruises follow much the same route, so these are three different trips: one sightseeing day and two private boats. Book the Gozo and Comino cruise for the most sightseeing at the lowest price per person. Go private if there are four or more of you and you want a shorter day, choosing the speedboat for two or three hours and the charter if anyone still plans to swim.
Our November picks
Malta: Gozo & Comino Islands, Blue Lagoon & Sea Caves Tour
The Blue Lagoon, a photo stop at the Crystal Lagoon, the Santa Maria caves and three to four hours on Gozo, with an optional bus to Victoria. From September to May the operator may use a large sailing catamaran without the underwater windows. It is the most-reviewed boat trip we list, and the hours ashore on Gozo carry the day on a cool one.
Check November datesMalta: Comino & Blue Lagoon Private Speed Boat Tour
Your own skipper from Mġarr on Gozo or Ċirkewwa on Malta, both close to Comino, so little of a short November day goes on getting there. The route takes in Santa Marija Cave and the tunnel at the Crystal Lagoon. At the starting price four people pay about $45 each, with fuel on top, and a fast open boat on a swell is hard going for anyone prone to seasickness.
See speedboat datesMalta: Private Boat Cruise with Caves, Beaches & Swim Stops
Your own boat and skipper around Comino's caves and bays, with snorkel masks, fins and a freshwater shower on board, which matters after an early-November swim. Fuel is a €59 cash charge on board, so four people pay about $71 each before fuel. The skipper adjusts the route to the weather.
See charter datesA group of seven gets better value from the two- to four-hour private boat, from $193 for up to seven and rated 5.0/5 from more than 150 reviews. Hornblower's Gozo and Comino cruise is the main alternative to our sightseeing pick, rated 4.7/5 from more than 7,000 reviews and sailing until December. For time ashore on Comino itself, the Comino catamaran from Buġibba starts at $34. If you were in Malta a few weeks earlier, our Malta boat trips in October guide shows what the choice looked like before the season turned.
Weather, wind and cancellations
All Blue Lagoon trips are marine excursions. Operators may change the route, skip the Crystal Lagoon, avoid the caves, shorten the swim stops, switch boats, postpone or cancel when conditions require it. Book the trip early in your Malta stay so you still have another day available.
For autumn and winter, flexible cancellation is particularly valuable. Do not rely only on the weather in Valletta or at your hotel, because conditions around Comino can be different: a short shower does not stop a boat, and a sunny day with a strong north-westerly can. The Malta Met Office's mariners' forecast gives the wind and sea state for the coming days.
Blue Lagoon landing pass
If you plan to step ashore in the managed Blue Lagoon area, check the current access rules and get the free landing pass when it applies, from the official site at blcomino.com. The pass has been required to set foot on land at the lagoon since 1 May 2025 and was brought back for summer 2026, but no official source says whether it applies outside summer, so check the site for your November date.
The landing pass and your boat or ferry booking are separate. Your tour does not book the pass for you, and if you stay aboard you do not need it.
What to bring
In the warm season you would pack swimwear, a towel, high-SPF sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and plenty of water, and early in November most of that still applies. For late autumn and winter, add a fleece or jumper, long trousers, a windproof layer and a complete dry change of clothes if you intend to swim. On a full-day cruise the return crossing in the late afternoon is the coldest part of the day on deck.
Final verdict
November is when Malta boat trips move from swimming cruises towards sightseeing, Gozo combinations and private boats. For most of the month, book the Gozo and Comino cruise and treat any swim as a bonus. Take the private speedboat for a short trip on your own terms, or the private charter if someone in the group still wants to swim. In the first days of the month, the Comino cruise from Ċirkewwa still makes a good half day. Whichever you choose, book it early in your stay and keep a spare day for the wind.
How we know
Tour routes, departure ports, group sizes, inclusions, prices and November availability are from the GetYourGuide listings and booking calendars, read in September and October 2026; ratings were re-read in October and November 2026. The shared operators' seasons are from their own published schedules, and the Comino ferry's from the Comino Ferries Co-op. Sea temperature is the Malta Met Office's monthly series for 1996–2025, the swimming guidance is the Malta Tourism Authority's, sunset is computed for the lagoon's coordinates, and the landing-pass rules are from blcomino.com.
